Hi. My name is Dave Keep. And, since this spot exists, in part, in order for you to get to know me better, here is some information to get you started.
Since 1995 I have been the lucky husband of a beautiful woman, my best friend, Julia. Our marriage has been enriched by the births of 7 children–ages 4 years to 15 years. If you read here often, you’ll see many of my life lessons come from being husband and father.
For the past four years (2007 – 2011) our family lived in Nampa, Idaho, where I was senior pastor of Grace Bible Church. We experienced great blessing from God, and met and made a lot of new friends. In April of 2011 God unexpectedly opened the door for us to return to Roanoke, VA where for five years (2002 – 2011) I had been on Staff at Parkway House of Prayer. After much prayer it was clear that we were to return to Virginia and I was to assume the role of Senior Pastor at Parkway. We moved in July of 2011 and are looking forward to all God has in store for our family and our church. We have discovered that following God is the greatest adventure, and it is with great excitement we face the opportunities and challenges ahead.
My kids are Katie (age 15), David Jr.(13), William (11), Annie (9), Taylor (6), Ellie (5) and Isaiah (4). They fill our home with joy, fear, frustration, angst, courage and inspiration. They are the greatest gift, a treasure nothing could replace. And though we don’t want any more, Julia and I thank God for each of them.
Julia is the Music ministry leader at Parkway. Along with being an amazing wife and fantastic mom, she is a gifted and passionate musician. Wow! I honestly cannot imagine life without her. She is my companion on this life-journey. I get a thrill when I think of having the privilege of spending the rest of my days by her side. When the kids have grown and gone, she and I will grow old together. Thank You, Father, for the blessing of a spiritual soul-mate. I’m a lucky man!
I have a Bachelor’s degree from Union Bible College and a Master’s Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Perhaps when the kids are grown and gone I will pursue more education. For now, my role as husband, father, and lead pastor provide all the learning opportunities I can handle. From time to time I’ll share thoughts regarding the books I’m reading, and the things I am learning.
Thanks for reading, I value the time you give to read my regular musings. I hope you’ll check back often, and respond when you can. I want us to get to know each other better.
