If you like politics you’re getting your belly full these days aren’t you? Just a few examples:
1. The State of the Union Address tonight. It was President Bush’s final SOTU. Most think he did quite well. How about you? I’ve gotta tell you, though I’ve disagreed with Bush on many issues, he’s been a great [...]

Through our conversation regarding Holiness the last few weeks I have been reminded of this verse: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)
Notice it [...]

We pulled off a squeaker today. The final score was 17-16 (sounds like a football score, but it’s actually basketball). The Willow Creek Wildcats won, and I am presently 3-0 for my career as a basketball coach. Perhaps we are seeing history in the making…
It’s a lot of fun leading these kids, though I have [...]

Just to let you know.
Everyone is now home. Julia and Isaiah came home from the hospital this morning. To say I am glad would be a tremendous understatement. These stints alone (with 6 kids) only serve to remind me I was not intended to do this on my own…
Isaiah is doing fine after another bout [...]

I read this this morning from Ray Stedman and thought it was a beautiful picture of us…
“When I was a boy in my early teens, I once tried to entice a female deer out of a thicket into a little clearing to get her to take an apple from my hand and eat it. She [...]

News broke today that Fred Thompson quit his run for President. I liked Fred. He seemed like a pretty conservative guy and a different breed for the White House. I guess it wasn’t to be.
So if not Fred, than who? I’ll be honest in saying I’m just not sure. I haven’t jumped on the Huckabee [...]

(I hope the beginning of my week is no indication of how the rest of it will be)
“Rainy days and Monday’s always get me down.” I was singing that phrase to my kids this morning after some CRAZY events. Let me explain.
Julia had to take Isaiah into the Emergency Room last night because of congestion [...]

Recently I embarked on my basketball-coaching career. Football was a relative success in the fall so I figured it couldn’t hurt when they called from the Nampa Rec Center to ask if I would be willing to coach my son’s basketball team in January and February. So far it is good!
I’ve got a great team. [...]

All right. I’ve decided it’s time to get back in shape.
It’s not been all that long ago that I practically lived on the basketball court. Last night I nearly died there. Well not quite, but I did play basketball last night and barely made it through one game. My knee hurt, I was out of [...]

I was just thinking about something good that’s been happening over the last week that has sorta’ taken me by surprise. It appears to be God’s activity, though we’ll see fully about that by and by.
Here’s my thought. We talk about the fact that God surprises us, and He often does. But I’m wondering when [...]

I just finished a project on the development of small groups at Grace. One of my primary objectives in 2008 is to organize this ministry in order to connect people to our church and each other so as to create a vibrant and growing body of believers who are working, learning and growing together.
I’ve done [...]
